After an equal start, Uralmash gradually began to gain a lead—MBA was allowed to stay close by fouls from Andrei Lopatin, but two three-pointers in a row from the guests, one of which Garrett Navels converted with a bonus free kick, brought the difference to double digits. Vladislav Trushkin's hit helped get out of it before the end of the first quarter - 16:25.
At the turn of the ten minutes, the red-whites made a 10-2 spurt, forcing the Uralmash bench to use a time-out - after which the Yekaterinburgers responded with their sprint, bringing their handicap to “+12”. By the break, the situation had not changed much - the guests went into the locker room with a double-digit lead.
