From the start, MBA tried to gain an advantage and scored a 7-0 lead. After that, the home team took a timeout but could not break the red and white's defense. When the score was 12-2, the residents of Volga started their sprint and managed to get close to a long-range shot. Maxim Barashkov, the hero of the previous game in Saratov, did not miss a chance and scored two goals in the first 10 minutes.
At the start of the second quarter, MBA managed to regain a double-digit lead, to which Avtodor responded with another timeout. Vladislav Trushkin took the lead for the red-whites: by the end of the first half, he had already scored 13 points. This was also the debut of Danil Pevnev, who made his first appearance in a VTB United League game and almost immediately scored in the selection report. Our team went to the locker room with a nine-point lead - 46-37.
After a break, Avtodor had five minutes to not only recover, but also take the lead. Two timeouts by Vasily Karasev didn't stop Avtodor from making a breakthrough. Thanks to the efforts of Daniil Kasatkin and Vladislav Trushkin, MBA regained the lead, and the red-and-white team left for the final break with a +4 score.
In the final ten minutes, the game continued with a catch-up: the Volga team was able to regain its advantage, albeit for a short period. Additionally, during this time, Avtodor's Rashon Hammond sat out due to fouls, and Evgeny Valiev also went to the bench for the same reason. With 30 seconds left until the end of the game, MBA had equalized the score with the same points as at the start of the segment. The final score was 85-79, with Vladislav Trushkin scoring 34 points, breaking his career high in the VTB United League.
Our guys will now play in Samara on April 20th to advance to the playoffs.
